Kjellermesterens Labprøve 5 – Fatlagret Norsk Potetbrennevin

Kjellermesterens Labprøve 5 – Fatlagret Norsk Potetbrennevin, 5 YO, 46.8 %

Another crazy experiment from the mad professor Jon Bertelsen at Det Norske Brenneri. A 5 YO cask matured potato spirit, matured in 225 litre ex-Sauternes cask (Lafite Rothschild). Distilled 2016 and bottled very late 2021.

This release is limited to 60 bottles (500 ml).

The Kjellermesterens Labprøve 5 – Fatlagret Norsk Potetbrennevin goes on sale February 14 at NOK 799 (14044302).

Nose: Slightly burnt potato peel, mild caramel and vanilla. Rather laid back, shy and clean.

Taste: Medium body, so much softer than a raw potato. Honey and caramel. Butterscotch. Rich yet rather dry at the same time.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Green pepper and earthy vanilla. Softly vegetal. Rich and creamy now. Caramel sauce, chocolate and honey. Quite the confectionary!

Comment: Sweet potato!
