This is the oldest official bottling of whisky from the Campbeltown distillery Glengyle so far. The Kilkerran 16 YO was bottled 2020, and it was matured in 96% ex-bourbon casks and 4 % Marsala casks.

The Kilkerran 16 YO will go on sale in Norway on May 31 at NOK 1050 (13176601).

Nose: Green apples, honey, hints of tropical fruits. Vanilla and white pepper. Dry-ish.

Taste: Medium body. Dusty, green apples. White pepper, ginger and green herbs. Tomato plant.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More vanilla now. Icing sugar. Cotton candy. All the while with a softly spicy side - white pepper, ginger and even traces of aniseed.

Comment: Lovely stuff from the “youngster” in Campbeltown.
