Glenturret Triple Wood (2025 Release)

Glenturret Triple Wood (2025 Release), NAS, 45%

The three woods used, resulting in the name, are American and European oak sherry seasoned casks and ex-bourbon barrels. I reviewed the previous incarnation of the Glenturret Triple Wood back in 2018, which was bottled at an ABV of 43% (see review).

The Glenturret Triple Wood (2025 Release) is available in Norway at NOK 950 (19921301). Also available straight from the distillery at GBP 62.

Nose: Malty with a light oaky edge at first. Cinnamon, dried fruits and vanilla follow, joined by sugar-coated ripe apples. A fresh pear note appears with time.

Taste: Medium bodied. Oaky spices and caramel carry a slight edge, with brown sugar and earthy cinnamon. Dry-leaning, softened by a touch of marshmallow sweetness.

Finish: Medium long. Stays dry and moderately sweet, dominated by oaky spice. Turns slightly bitter toward the end, accented by gentle floral notes.

Comment: Spiced oak with restrained sweetness.

Score 85/100
