This grand old Glenfiddich has been matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks. That’s all I know really. Apart from it being distilled at the Speyside distillery Glenfiddich of course.

The Glenfiddich 26 YO Excellence is available to buy in Norway at NOK 4790 (1897101). It is also available in the UK at around GBP 350.

Nose: The style is mot definitely light and fruity. Ripe and fresh pears, and a touch of citrus and tropical fruits. Vanilla. Dusty attic and dry oak. With time it also reveals a greener side.

Taste: Medium to full bodied. Fizzy, green apples. Ginger. Creamy vanilla, white pepper and toasted oak.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Quite fresh, with mild spiciness. Sweet and fruity. Remains rich and creamy all the way.

Comment: Fabulous nose, and a palate that is almost on level but not quite.
