This is the third annual release of the Fettercairn 16 YO. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-Oloroso sherry and ex-PX sherry casks. It goes on sale in Norway today at NOK 1250 (14969401).

Nose: Orchard fruits, with a hint of rubber tires. Mild oakiness. vanilla and worn leather. More dried fruits with time.

Taste: Medium to full bodied. Sweeter, fruitier and bigger all round than what the nose indicated. Deeply sweet.

Finish: Medium long finish. Sweet fruitiness and a hint of oaky spices.

Comment: The palate beats the nose, hands down. I find it is very often the other way around.
