Another Teaninich on the test bench today, and this is also an independent bottling. Chapter Eight in the Fable Fairies naming scheme from independent bottler Pendulum Spirits Ltd is the “code” for Teaninich Distillery.

This release was distilled 2010-07-21, matured in a single refill hogshead (cask #715481), and bottled 2022-04-26. It is limited to 196 bottles.

I highly recommend you all take a look at the official product page; the animated videos are fabulous (fable-ous?).

This whisky will go on sale in Norway on January 11 at NOK 1510 (15118601).

Nose: Rich and reminiscent of a hot Summer afternoon. Mild maltiness. Ripe apples. Iced tea and vanilla. With time the tea takes on a distinct note of chamomile.

Taste: Very rich and big. Creamy and juicy notes of ripe apple, banana, orange and pineapple. Also fizzy notes of ginger and beeswax. Softly oaky.

Finish: Medium to long finish. It remains rich, fruity and sweet. The dominant fruit is now oranges, and they do tend towards a mild bitterness in the end. More of the soft and oaky astringency now.

Comment: Thoroughly enjoyable!
