This was originally a special release for the Japanese market. A few bottles have found their way to the European market, and thus the Chivas Regal Mizunara is available to buy in our corner of the world.

What makes this such a special release is that part of the blend was matured in Mizunara oak casks.

Nose: Fresh and fruity. This is a nose that is alive and vibrant. Ripe apples and soft maltiness. Hints of incense and exotic wood.

Taste: Medium to full-bodied. Light notes of fruit juice, and at the same time deeper notes of coffee and chocolate. Cinnamon and again the exotic wood. Hints of leather and polish. White pepper.

Finish: Medium long finish. It comes across as a touch perfumy now, but not enough so as to be a nuisance. Fruity and fresh throughout, and with that solid base of chocolate and coffee. Earthy notes of cinnamon, and perhaps nuts in the end.

Comments: A fine spin on the regular Chivas Regal.
