Nose: Big, bold and rather meaty for a Port Charlotte. Big smoke and peat. Sweet BBQ and wood smoke. Tar and soot with sugar and citrus flavor. With time the veil of smoke parts and the fruity notes slowly appear. Rich and sweet. Malt, creamy vanilla and toasted oak.

Taste: Big and more than full bodied. Peppery soot and ashes. Not really meaty on the palate - lighter with more sweet fruitiness now. Salt and pepper over grilled pineapple. Dry-ish in character, with floral notes swirling in the background.

Finish: Medium long finish. Lighter still. Some wood smoke, as well as “smoky, dark chocolate”. Some fruitiness towards the end, alongside chipotle chili.

Comment: Again - rock solid. Port Charlotte rarely misses a beat.

Score 88/100
