Braes of Glenlivet 25 YO (Batch BG/003), 48 %

This new product from Chivas Brothers is part of their new Secret Speyside Collection. The distillery formerly known as Braes of Glenlivet changed its name to Braeval in 1994. The distillery was closed down in 2002, then re-opened in 2008.

Oh, and it has been matured in 1st fill American oak barrels, it was bottled August 2021, and this is batch BG/003. The first batch which was bottled 2019 was the first ever official bottling of Braes of Glenlivet. Since then they have released more batches of this one, obviously, as well as a 27 YO and a 30 YO.

The Braes of Glenlivet 25 YO is available in Norway starting this coming Monday, at NOK 3999 (14046501).

Nose: Soft and mild. Vanilla, and a cornucopia of tropical fruits - coconut, mango, pineapple, honey dew melon and banana. With time strawberry flavored chewing gum. Dusty, old attic, filled to the roof with old books.

Taste: Medium to full body. Matches the nose very closely, with some added white pepper. It is a little dry and mildly oaky.

Finish: Long and darned fine finish. Soft astringency and oaky spices. Caramel and fruity sweetness. Then an impeccable landing.

Comment: Yummy! Really, really yummy!
