This should have been posted a while back - OK, years back. Anywho - here it is.

The Blair Athol 1993 23 YO (Special Releases 2017) has been matured in ex-bodega European oak butts. The release was limited to 5514 bottles.

This whisky is still available to buy online at around GBP 375.

Nose: Mint, malt and caramel. A touch of perfume - floral and herbal. A soft alcohol nibble. Caramel pudding and dried fruits.

Taste: Full-bodied and rich. Massive wave of spices upfront. Hot, hot, hot. Various chilies and peppers. Dry-ish with lots of oaky spices as well.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Still a bit dry. The spices give way to dried fruits and notes of slightly burnt caramel. Minty for sure. The end is watery and oaky.

Comment: No sure what to say. Try it? Maybe you will enjoy it more than I did.
