I keep working my way through the five entries in The Goldfinch - Wine Series. This release spent its first 13 years in an ex-sherry cask, then 18 month finish in a red wine Barrique from a Chateau in North of Pauillac in Bordeaux, France. Limited to 329 bottles.

Nose: Dried fruits mixed with notes of red berries and earthy notes of red wine. With time plum wine and white pepper.

Taste: Medium body and rich sweetness. Black and white pepper mixed with assorted summer fruits. Dry-ish in character.

Finish: Medium long finish. Drier now. Dark chocolate and red berries. Hints of leather and oak in the end.

Comment: Earthy and comforting.
