Agitator Single Malt Whisky Rök

Agitator Single Malt Whisky Rök, NAS, 43 %

This is the first peated single malt released by Agitator in Sweden. Made from peated malt (40 ppm) from Castle Malting, Belgium. Matured in a mix of ex-Islay oak casks and chestnut casks. See the official product page for more information.

The Agitator Single Malt Whisky Rök goes on sale in Norway on January 12 2022, at NOK 654 (13710201).

Nose: Smoked strawberries. Creamy, earthy and smoky vanilla. Toasted oak. Herbal chocolate. With time grilled lemon. Honey and cinnamon cake piping hot from the oven.

Taste: Quite rich and creamy for such a low ABV. Vanilla ice cream served with smoky caramel sauce, freeze-dried strawberries, icing sugar, white chocolate and a pinch of white pepper. Dry-ish in style. More sooty cocoa nibs than peat and smoke really.

Finish: Medium long finish. Another helping of the same lovely, if weird, dessert. Towards the end also sweet ginger and hints of cinnamon. Mild astringency and saltiness.

Comment: I really enjoyed this!
