Sadly we cannot get whisky with an ABV above 60 % here in Norway. This means most batches of Aberlour A’bunadh is unavailable here. Well, here is batch ¤72, in a Norwegian friendly ABV. From what I hear a large portion of this batch goes to Norway.

Nose: Caramel, malt, dried fruits and white pepper. Hint of alcohol burn. Nuts and oak chips in the background. Cinnamon and dates.
Taste: Medium to full body. A fair bit of caramel and red berries. Creamy vanilla. Somewhat dry in character; more so than the last few batches I’ve tried of the A’bunadh. A little rough around the edges.
Finish: Medium long finish. Sugary sweet now. Dried fruits, dark caramel and even some maple syrup. Fizzy ginger and red berries.
Comment: Still very much enjoyable, but I do find myself longing for older batches - lower batch numbers and (possibly) also older content..
