This is a new addition to the Aberlour core range. A double cask matured 14 YO.

The Aberlour 14 YO - Batch 0002 has been matured in bourbon barrels first, then Oloroso sherry casks.

We might see this whisky released in Norway in September this year. Meanwhile it is available in the UK at around GBP 55.

Nose: Various ripe berries - rowan berries, cherry and strawberry. Caramel. Orchard fruits. Tomato plant. Green tea and lychee.

Taste: Thin body. Apples. Not all that sweet really. Dry though. A bit oaky - softly astringent and a little bitter. Hmm, a flash of elderflower tonic. White pepper.

Finish: Medium long finish. White pepper. Still a bit dry and bitter. Fizzy ginger. Caramel.

Comment: A bit flat at first, but it does perk up with time.
