Woven Experience N. 17 Synchronicity

From the official product page we find the following:

“Deep, complex and oozing balance, this blend was built around a juicy Rioja wine cask of unpeated whisky codenamed Staoisha by the brokers. On it's own this cask was a little much, the wine had taken the delicate spirit too far. This is where blending comes in. Not all the whiskies we find are perfect, but they have certain charms that can be coaxed out of them. This was an example of that.”

The is available online at around GBP 70.

Nose: Distinct minerality and maritime essence, flinty with briny undertones, complemented by sweet, smoky driftwood.

Taste: Medium to full-bodied, presenting a unique mix of fruity, waxy, and earthy elements. Notes of orchard fruits, vanilla, milk chocolate, apple wax, possibly beeswax, and traces of soot and ashes.

Finish: Medium-length. Fading sweetness and fruitiness persist, highlighted by white pepper, mild oakiness, and a hint of citrus at the end.

Comment: Intriguingly complex. Pete “nose” his stuff!

Score 87/100

PS: The official product page states that the Staoisha single malt component is unpeated, but Staoisha is peated Bunnahabhain, so I expect that is a typo. Especially since none of the other components specified are peated.
