Teerenpeli Kulo

Teerenpeli Kulo, 7 YO, 50.7 %

I seem to have neglected Finnish whisky for a while, and in particular Teerenpeli. So, this is the start of a series of Teerenpeli reviews. I start off with the Teerenpeli Kulo, a lightly peated whisky matured for 7 years in ex-sherry casks. See more info on their product page.

Nose: Picture yourself cozied up by the fire with those heartwarming dried fruits and honey cake aromas. It's like drizzling rich caramel sauce over your favorite ice cream. Hang out a bit longer and you'll catch whiffs of cinnamon, a mix of nuts, and that aged, refined scent of a cigar box.

Taste: Talk about richness! It's like diving into a pool of honey. Sprinkle in some white pepper for a kick. And there’s that dreamy caramel-ice cream combo again, with a hint of toasted oak chillin' in the back.

Finish: This one really lingers. It's so sweet, it's like a treat that refuses to leave your taste buds. Yep, more honey! And it's smooth and full, like your favorite creamy dessert. But beneath all that sweetness and light fruity vibe, there’s a sizzle of spices. And just when you think it's done, there's a smoky, sooty finale.

Comment: Top-tier stuff!
