Octomore Batch 1 TBWC

Octomore Batch 1 TBWC, 6 YO, 50.4 %

This is one of a relatively low number of ndependent bottlings of Octomore single malt. The Octomore Batch 1 TBWC was bottled 2018, and limited to 796 bottles. I was matured in two private casks. I am not sure if they were fully matured or finished in these two casks: an ex-Tempranillo wine cask and a an ex-Pauillac wine cask.

Nose: Heavily peaty, fortified red wine! Chocolate and earth cellar. Oily and softly vegetal. With time also chocolate and cinnamon.

Taste: Full bodied and dry! Dark, dry, smoky, peaty chocolate. Dark, dark, chocolate mousse. Creamy vanilla and hints of red berries. Smoky chipotle chili.

Finish: Medium long finish. Not as dry now. Still mainly chocolate mousse, as well as lighter fruity notes of red berries and red grapes.

Comment: One of the most chocolate-y Octomores I’ve had.
