This is the entry level whisky in the Deanston core range. The Deanston Virgin Oak was launched back in 2009/2010. This is a non age statement whisky. The component whiskies that go into thgis vatting will vary from batch to batch, but typically they will be in the age range of 5 to 10 YO. Initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then vatted and finished for 9-12 months in American virgin oak casks from Kelvin cooperage in Kentucky.

Nose:  Light and fresh fruitiness. Summer fruits and cotton candy. Creamy vanilla. With time malt, strawberries and coconut.

Taste: Medium body and above medium sweetness. The palate is just as fruity as the nose if not even more so. Creamy and smooth. Vanilla and strawberries again.

Finish: Medium long finish. White pepper sprinkled on the strawberries now. Malty with soft oaky notes - nuts and pencil shavings.

Comment: A smooth criminal! It’s a steal!
