This independent bottling of Benrinnes single malt has been matured in a sherry hogshead (cask #9734). It was distilled 1997-10-27, and bottled 2018-07-26. This is release from independent bottler Signatory Vintage, bottled exclusively for La Maison du Whisky (LMdW).

Nose: Vibrant and rich nose. Dried fruits, mahogany table, Chesterfield chair, cigar box, incense and a sandalwood temple in the background. Cinnamon and polish. Old leather. Hints of pepper.

Taste: Medium body and rather tannic upfront. More than a little oaky dryness. Softly green. Oaky spices.

Finish: Long finish. Menthol, eucalyptus, dried fruit and cinnamon. Quite astringent still. Leather and polish again. Less dry towards the end.

Comment: Feels even older than it is. Brilliant, but a bit too oaky to get a really high score.
