This is a release in the decades series from Japanese distillery Yoichi, owned by Nikka. This whisky is a vatting of whisky that was distilled each year between the years 2000 and 2009. It was bottled in 2015, and was only available to buy at the distillery..

Nose: Balanced and soft. Vanilla and light notes of summer fruit. Oaky caramel. Warm, with soft notes of cinnamon. Just gets better and better with time. It also turns a little darker, which is just fine.

Taste: Rich and full mouthfeel. Spicy with cinnamon and white pepper being the most prominent. Hints of tropical fruit. Fizzy ginger.

Finish: Long-ish finish. Oily and rich. No further development, but it is very savoury.

Comment: A great experience!
