Another new whisky from Norwegian distillery Myken. The Myken United Americans 2021 is composed of whisky from four 100 litre virgin American oak casks, and one 200 litre 1st fill ex-bourbon (Wild Turkey) barrel. One of the small casks held peated whisky (35 ppm), the remain casks held unpeated spirit. So, a mildly peated whisky then.

The smaller casks were all 3.5 years old, and the barrel was 5.5 years old. This means the Myken United Americans 2021 contains some of the oldest whisky released by Myken so far.

This release is limited to just over 1000 bottles (50 cl).

The Myken United Americans 2021 will go on sale in Norway on Friday March 5 at NOK 950 (12670702).

Nose: Candy floss with tropical fruit flavors. Icing sugar. Vanilla. Pineapple. Hints of white pepper. With time add more white pepper., as well as a soft oakiness and whispers of peat.

Taste: Medium body. Sweet and honey like mouthfeel. Vanilla and tropical fruits again. Mild and pleasant - through and through. No discernible peat.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Wish it would last longer, but happy for as long as it does last. Leaves me with an aftertaste of Juicy Fruit Tropical. Echos of green herbs and wood smoke waaay in the background.

Comment: Young but certainly a fine product.
