It was nice to get a chance to taste another Glengoyne. This particular Glengoyne is released by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. Last Saturday I wrote about Macallan 1997 16 YO which was released by Douglas Laing in their bottling series Old Particular. They also have a range called Provenance and this is what they say about it:

Glengoyne 15 YO Provenance was distilled autumn 1997 and bottled summer 2013. It has matured in a refill hogshead cask DMG 9880.

The whisky is available in Norway (item number 1258401) at NOK 750.

Nose (21/25): Very light and fresh. The smell was a mix of different kinds of candy. At first there was caramel, next I found Fox (soft caramel with lemon flavor), soft licorice and Bassetts Allsorts. Light smoke.

Taste (21/25): The taste was light and fresh as well. Quite salty. Lemon and Fox. Simple.

Finish (21/25): Salt, lemon and caramel (Norwegian 'Smørbukk', a soft creamy caramel). Metallic in the end.

Balance (22/25): I call this a well balanced whisky. A lot of lemon and caramel. This was a clean and easy drinking whisky.
