Fary Lochan Efterår Batch #3

Fary Lochan Efterår Batch #3, 6 YO, 48.3 %

This Danish single malt whisky from Fary Lochan Distillery was distilled 2013-11-19, matured in a single Oloroso sherry cask (cask #2013-16) and bottled 2019-11-19. The total release was 535 large bottles (50 cl) + 500 miniatures (5 cl). It was produced using 1 % peated malt, and 99 % unpeated.

Nose: Vanilla and caramel notes are first in line. Dark chocolate and hints of toasted oak. With time softly herbal as well.

Taste: Medium to light body. Rather peppery at first. Hints of soot. Fizzy ginger and white pepper on the second wave. Dry-ish.

Finish: Medium long finish. Ginger and pepper still, then honey glazed apples. Dry, dark chocolate with a leathery side note.

Comment: Not sure how to describe this, but it is fairly good.

Score 85/100
