Dallas Dhu 1980 26 YO Part des AngesDallas Dhu was founded in 1898, located in the Speyside region, and closed (like many other distilleries) in 1983. The Dallas Dhu 1980 26 YO Part des Anges was distilled in 1980, matured in an unspecified cask (cask #PDA 2107) and bottled in 2007 with a total outturn of 231 bottles.

This is a release from French independent bottler Part des Anges. You might find a bottle or two online, at around € 220 or more.

Nose: Warm and fruity nose. Medium sweet. Wet rocks, cut grass, vanilla, runny honey and candle wax.

Taste: Rich and honey-like mouthfeel. The honey (heather honey) is mixed with hot spices. The warm and deep sweetness is really wonderful, coating the whole palate - making every taste bud dance - for a few seconds...

Finish: ...then it fades, a bit too quickly. Medium long finish. The sweetness fades away, and it feels a little bit metallic and salty. I find it 'tired' - for lack of a better word.

Comments: The nose was good, the initial taste delightful, then it sort of deflated. All in all a nice dram, don't get me wrong.
