I am very happy that Bunnahabhain now have re-introduced their whole core range without chill-filteration, without coloring and with a higher strength of 46.3%, up from the previous 43 %. The last expression to get this upgrade was the Bunnahabhain 25 YO.

This whisky is available to buy in Norway at NOK 2550 (item number 9930701), and in Sweden at Systembolaget for SEK 2797 (item number 85418). Yet again I believe the info at Systembolaget in Sweden must be outdated, as they apparently still sell the Bunnahabhain 25 YO at 43 %.

Nose (23/25): This is a lovely sherry nose. Not a hint of rubber or burnt matches anywhere. This is just pure sherry bliss. Dark fruits, tons of ripe oranges, almonds, cinnamon, cardamom, salted vanilla ice cream, and mild honey.

Taste (23/25): Again oranges, peeled, sliced and served with a honey-caramel sauce. Accompanying this you have more of the salted vanilla ice-cream. Rich, sweet, complex and delightful.

Finish (23/25): Slightly drier towards the end. I find almonds and a sprinkling of cracked peanut shells.

Balance (23/25): Wow! What a fantastic dram. This is one of the true legends. It certainly belongs in the whisky collection at home.

Score (92/100)
