Bowmore 100 Degrees ProofBowmore distillery is located on Islay, which I recently visited for the very first time! We stayed just a few meters from Bowmore distillery actually, and of course we got a chance to visit.

Well, todays whisky I did not taste on Islay, but with The Ladies' Share in February. I had tasted it before, but it is always interesting to taste a whisky again. Often the score ends exactly the same, but this time it improved a couple of points.

This whisky is released for travel retail only.

Nose (22/25): Heavy sherry notes on the smell. Figs and prunes. A dark sweetness. Quite oaky, but it is not overwhelming with the sweetness of the sherry notes.

Taste (22/25):  Very sweet at first. Still the sherry comes through but another sweetness. Here we found raisins and dried peaches. Fudge and salt.

Finish (21/25): The aftertaste had yet another sweetness. Here we found licorice. Quite dry with some salt. Warm. Not very exciting.

Balance (22/25): To me this is not a typical Bowmore, and I guess that is why I like it so much! I found no perfume here, which is just perfect. I really like this one!

Score (87/100)
