The Vallein Tercinier 1987 Single Cask TTG 3.0 is an exclusive bottling for La Maison du Whisky (LMDW), and is released under their series Through the Grapevine (TTG).

This is the kind of relase that truly warms a whisky lovers heart. It is a single cask, cask strength release. No colouring, no chill-filtration. The way it should be, right?

There is a ton of history surrounding Vallein Tercinier, as with many cognac houses. The family bought the Domaine des Forges estate in 1791 and started selling their cognac in 1850. You can read more here.

The Vallein Tercinier 1987 Single Cask TTG 3.0 will come on sale in Norway on June 21 at NOK 2500 (11058101). You can also buy it directly from LMDW at € 198.

Nose: Again I am struck by how fantastic cognac can be, once you move away from the cheap, overly sweet and perfumy products that seem so prevalent today. This is pure joy. Various summer fruits, mild spices and teasing floral notes and soft oakiness.

Taste: Medium body. A palate to match the nose. Some added astringency. Nutmeg and vanilla.

Finish: Medium long finish. Caramel notes now, and hints of chocolate. Drier towards the end, and more tannic in character.

Comment: Joyful and fruity!
