Tobermory 15 YO

Yesterday I reviewed the Tobermory 10 YO, and I thought I would follow-up with the 'big brother' today, the Tobermory 15 YO. It is basically the same makeup as the Tobermory 10 YO, but of course five years older.

This expression has also spent it's last full year in 1st fill sherry casks. We should therefore notice more sherry notes here than on the 10 YO.

The Tobermory 15 YO is not for sale in Norway (yet?), but in Sweden it can be yours at SEK 991 (item number 85331).

Nose (21/25): Light and fresh. Almonds and light fruit. Definitely more sherry notes here than on the 10 YO. The mineral notes are masked, which is a good, in my view.

Taste (21/25): More sherry on the palate as well. Pepper, oak spices, and honey sweetness. A bit dry.

Finish (20/25): Oak and now more caramel. Still dry, with a medium long finish.

Balance (20/25): A fine dram, but I actually think I prefer the 10 YO to this one - even with the mineral notes on the younger whisky.

Score (82/100)
