The Glenlivet Nadurra Cask Strength

The Glenlivet Nadurra was released a few years ago, and used to have an age statement (16 YO). In 2015 it was re-launched as a NAS and at Cask Strength. The The Glenlivet Nadurra Cask Strength is now also available in a peated version. Today I am reviewing the unpeated version.

Nàdurra is Gaelic and means natural. The Glenlivet Nàdurra has been matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso sherry oak casks.

You can buy the in Norway at NOK 615 (2198401), and in Sweden at SEK 499 (8562501). There appears to be different ABV levels for this whisky, and this might be a batch variation or different editions. If anyone has additional info I would appreaciate this.

Nose (22/25): Nice and rich vanilla sweetness straight off. Then I get more varied fruits; fresh and dried. Strawberries, marzipan and Christmas spices. Smells a bit like a candy store around Christmas.

Taste (22/25): Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Fruity (again a mixed basket of fresh and dried fruits). Pepper, vanilla, and honey.

Finish (21/25): Stays fruity 'till the end. Spicy - pepper and various (not so hot) chillies. Tends towards dry on the finish.

Balance (21/25): A very nice, and rich Speysider. I love that they actually have cask strength whisky in their core range. Yay!

Score (86/100)
