Millburn 1974 / 1998 (G&M)

Millburn 1974 / 1998 Connoisseurs Choice (G&M), ~24 YO, 40 %

I know nothing of this bottling, except for the year it was distilled (1974) and bottled (1998). No details on casks used etc.

Nose: Grassy and floral. Camphor and juicy oranges that also come across as dusty. With time also vanilla and a nibbling, oaky astringency. The citrus notes develop as well, incorporating also lemon and lime zest.

Taste: Medium to thin body. A fair bit of oakiness, but it does not have a whole lot of bite. Watery, caramel flavored and mildly floral. Hints of coffee and cocoa nibs.

Finish: Medium long finish. More floral now, tending towards perfume. Fizzy ginger and hints of citrus. Vanilla and white pepper.

Comment: Feels a bit fragile and confused.

Score 85/100
