Maclean’s Nose Blended Scotch Whisky

Maclean’s Nose Blended Scotch Whisky, NAS, 46 %

This is a new product from independent bottler Adelphi. A blended Scotch celebrating Charles Maclean, Adelphi’s Chief Nose and world renowned whisky guru. (PS! Charles is also a fellow clansman of mine, a fun fact I have uncovered after innumerous hours of hobby genealogy).

This blended Scotch has a very high malt content of 70 %, and has been matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. In fact the great interweb provided these details:

Made up from the following Malt and Grain Whisky:

- 40 x ex-bourbon ASB of malt whisky distilled in the West Highlands (2018)

- 5 x ex-bourbon ASB of malt whisky distilled in Campbeltown (2016)

- 16 x ex-sherry hogsheads of malt whisky distilled in the West Highlands (2018)

- 21 x ex-bourbon hogsheads of grain whisky distilled in the Lowlands. (2017).

The Maclean’s Nose Blended Scotch Whisky goes on sale in Norway in a few days at NOK 608 (15914701).

Nose: Bright and lively with orchard fruits and a zesty pop of fizzy ginger and citrus. Let it breathe and you'll catch whispers of dried fruits, a touch of salt, and a wisp of smoke.

Taste: Zesty and spirited! Fresh and citrusy, paired with distinct chocolate and honey notes. Imagine a hint of salt sprinkled on toasted oak, topped with a dash of soot.

Finish: Salty vibes linger, joined by juicy orchard fruits and a subtle licorice twist. Ends with a sprinkle of exotic spices.

Comment: Oh, that's tasty! 🥃 Cheers!
