Here it is, the sixth and last whisky in the Mackmyra Privus Series. These whiskies were released for sale back in 2007 and 2008.
The Mackmyra Privus:06 I bergakungens sal was a limited release of 1000 bottles (50 cl). It was bottled on 2008-01-28.
For this expression they had their warehouse manager, Bo Söderborg, pick three favourite casks.
Nose: Mild and shy. Reminds me of the Privus:04. Oaky sweetness. This one also has a green touch - tomato plant. Mustard seeds. Vanilla. Artificial sweetener - although this does dissipate with time.
Taste: Medium light body. The least sweet on the palate out of the six Privus expressions. Rather dry in character. Edgy spiciness.
Finish: Medium long finish. Ginger, mint and green herbs. I am having a really hard time describing the finish in more detail. It is dry and raw - I would say almost harsh. Spicy in a way, but not quite. It is more like it gets stuck at the back of my throat, and not really in a good way. Strange..
