So, time for the 16th release in Mackmyra's Moment Series. The Mackmyra Moment Malström ("Maelstrom") was released on 2014-06-02, in a limited run of 1600 bottles. You will find more info about this release on the official website here.

Here is what Mackmyra say about this particular release:

"Our sixteenth release in the Moment series is a spicy, flavorful, Swedish malt whisky with intense cask notes in a very limited edition. The character comes from fine 30-liters casks of all kinds. Many different cask types and styles come together in this whisky, creating a fine unity. A delightful taste explosion with light smoke."

Nose: Hmm..dusty citrus, anyone? Limes and oranges. Somewhat oaky as well, spicy and fresh. Toasted oak and fading wood smoke.

Taste: Medium body. A bit raw on the edges, straight off. Warm and with a bite of alcohol. Oak, vanilla and strange spices.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Oaky, spicy and raw all the way. There is a bitter character to it that I cannot quite place.

Comments: Not quite finding the balance with this one.
