Longmorn The Distiller's Choice, NAS, 40 %

Here is the entry level single malt from Speyside distillery Longmorn. This is in fact the only core range single malt from Longmorn, as most of their production goes into blends, primarily the blends of the owners Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard).

You can buy a bottle of the Longmorn The Distiller's Choice in Norway at NOK 685 (3785001), and in the UK around GBP 47. This whisky is currently not available in Sweden.

Nose: Rich, complex and light fruitiness. A lot of ripe apples - red and green. Waxy apple peel. Light notes of runny, floral honey. Vanilla and coconut milk. Mild caramel sauce.

Taste: Medium body and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Still quite fruity, though not as pronounced as on the nose. Notes of ginger, white pepper and toasted oak.

Finish: Medium long finish. White pepper, apples, almonds and nutmeg.

Comments: A nose that would make even Cleopatra look twice. Wish the ABV was a little higher to get more from the palate, but it is still good.

Score (87/100)
