A ten year old single malt from Gotland Whisky, under their Isle of Lime brand. 200 litre ex-Laphroaig ex-bourbon cask, distilled 2012-12-28, and bottled 2023-03-10. Limited to 383 bottles.

“At Gotland Whisky, we call the first eight casks “The first casks”. They were distilled over a period of a couple of months back in 2012 when everything was new and we tried to figure out how the distillery worked.”

The Isle of Lime 2012 10 YO - fat nr 7 was released in Sweden on April 24, 2023.

Nose: This one greets you with a light, delicate aroma. It's softly fruity with an abundance of vanilla and a whisper of wood smoke. As it opens up, medicinal and nutty notes begin to emerge, adding depth.

Taste: Striking a balance between medium and full-bodied, it has a Laphroaig-like character. There's a pleasant medicinal quality intertwined with creamy vanilla, sweet fudge, sharp iodine, and the crispness of a salty sea breeze.

Finish: The finish stretches from medium to long, taking a spicier, almost aggressive turn. It combines sweet licorice with creamy vanilla, zesty lime, soot, and a dash of white pepper for an intriguing complexity.

Comment: A fun and unexpected Isle of Lime twist, missing its typical fruit notes.
