OK, are you ready for another Family Cask expression from Glenfarclas? Well, I know I am. Here goes then, I’ll “dive” into the Glenfarclas The Family Casks 1997 (Winter 2018).

This whisky was distilled in 1997, matured in a refill sherry butt (cask #5134), and finally bottled on 2018-12-06. The total outturn was 603 bottles.

You can buy the Glenfarclas The Family Casks 1997 (Winter 2018) in Norway starting this Thursday at NOK 2822 (11343501).

Nose: This is a gentleman of a dram. Well dressed, polite and mild mannered. The first impression is positive to say the least. Mild spices, caramel, dried fruits. Hints of dark chocolate, cinnamon and dates. It ticks all the boxes for a proper sherry matured, well-aged scotch.

Taste: Rich and full-bodied. More spices on the palate than the nose, by far. Dried fruits and in general a slightly dry character. Orchard fruits and chocolate in the back.

Finish: Long finish. It does loosen up a bit on the finish. Sweeter now, creamy fudge and vanilla. Almonds, leather, cinnamon and hints of dried herbs.

Comment: Welcome! Please make yourself comfortable and stay a while..
