This is a whisky from the Signatory Vintage Collection. It is a limited release of five sherry casks (cask 513 - 518). It was distilled 1970-02-18, and bottled July 1990, with a total outturn of 3800 bottles.

Nose: Deep, dark, comforting. Feels like that perfect, warm hug we all now crave (a rare covid-19 reference there, people). Dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, rich caramel, sherry flavored marzipan and softly herbal honey.

Taste: .. tic .. tic .. boom! Mind blown .. re-booting .. 64K RAM system .. 38911 Basic bytes free .. ready .. Full bodied like Santa Clause and just as good-natured! This is Christmas Past in a glass! Gold tinted, retro filtered memories of that perfect Christmas from way back. Christmas pudding, warm spices, honey cake, gingerbread, cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, nuts and cigar box.

Finish: Long finish. Christmas this-and-that all the way. It’s just a delight from start to end. Wave after wave of liquid nostalgia and liquid sunshine.

Comment: The perfect sherry bomb! So intense and aromatic it boggles the mind.

Score 95/100
