I have now reached the third, and for now final, whisky in the sporty Fat Trout series. I have previously looked at the regular Fat Trout 3 YO Blend and the Fat Trout 8 YO Lowland Single Malt. This time around I dive deep into the Fat Trout 10 YO Speyside Single Malt.

This is a single malt, but the whisky is sourced from an undisclosed Speyside distillery.

You can buy a bottle of the Fat Trout 10 YO Speyside Single Malt in Norway at NOK 450 (1553401).

Nose: Lighter and more fruity than the other fat trouts I have tasted. A bit dusty, which is a bit odd for such a relatively young whisky.

Taste: Medium to trim body. The mouthfeel is a bit bland at first. Light fruitiness - ripe, red apples. White pepper, caramel, ginger, cinnamon and a touch of honey. Floral and lightly oaky.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Not a whole lot more happens here. It just fades away, keeping the same profile throughout.

Comments: An easier, and thus maybe a bit more boring, dram than the other fat trouts. But it is well crafted and pleasant.
