Delamain Grande Champagne Malaville, NAS, 45 %

Delamain Grande Champagne MalavilleThis is my second review of old and fine Cognac from Delamain (see also my first review). The Delamain Grande Champagne Malaville is a product in their Single Vineyards Collection.

This is a single cask release (cask 709-6040), a "well seasoned oak cask". The total outturn was 348 bottles. The label states that it was bottled in 2017.

The Malaville is an X.O Cognac, and as with all Cognac from Delamain it is 20+ years old. The specific age is not given for this product.

You can still buy the Delamain Grande Champagne Malaville in Norway at NOK 2295 (10189601).

Nose: Deep and powerful nose. Powerful more in what it promises and hints at, rather than smacking you in the face. A fine oakiness mixed with complex fruitiness, grapes and notes of caramel.

Taste: Medium body and creamy mouthfeel. Rich and rewarding with homemade caramel pudding and thick caramel sauce. More oaky spices now. Dark chocolate in the back.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More grapes, now accompanied by ripe apples. The caramel pudding is still here - soft, rich, delicate and sublime. Cinnamon and cardamom.

Comments: Just delicious.
