David Nicholson Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon

David Nicholson Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, NAS, 50 %

Here is a Kentucky straight bourbon with a high rye content in the mash bill. A so-called high-rye bourbon will typically have at least 20 % rye in the mashbill, and of course at least 51 % corn.

David Nicholson does not have their own distillery, but rather source their spirits from various other distilleries.

You can buy the David Nicholson Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon in Norway starting March 6 at NOK 556 (11609501), and in the UK at around GBP 47.

Nose: Light citrus, dried fruits, toasted oak and vanilla. Notes of cigar box, sandal wood. Sugar cubes infused with bbq smoke and orange juice.

Taste: Medium to full bodied. Some pepper upfront, rich caramel, and fizzy citrus. Vanilla and ginger. Toasted oak - perhaps a whiff of smoke?

Finish: Medium to long finish. Appealing and warm spiciness that slowly fades out. Light fruitiness. Fizzy citrus and caramel in the end.

Comment: Very nice. ‘Nuff said!
