Compass Box Great King Street Artist's Blend

Compass Box blends whiskies. I have shared my tasting notes on their Hedonism Blended Grain earlier.

Great King Street Our whisky line is named after a street in the New Town of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Great King Street has been home to the registered office of the Compass Box Whisky Company since 2000.

Compass Box shares many details about this blend:

Nose (22/25): Very smooth and nice. Vanilla and fudge. Malt and oak. Sweet, but not too sweet. Some freshness as well. I got mint and eucalyptus.

Taste (22/25): Very rich and quite smooth. A malty sweetness mixed with vanilla and salt. Fresh and a little touch of fruitiness. I got apples and pears.

Finish (22/25): A spicy and salty finish that lasts for a long time. Ginger, nutmeg and white pepper.

Balance (23/25): This was a nice surprise. Such a rich and tasteful blend, and with and ABV at 43 %. I am impressed. This is certainly a well done job of the blender. This is by far the best blend I have tasted from Compass Box.

Score (89/100)
