Caperdonich 21 YO Peated (Batch CP/004), 48 %

A whisky recently released in the Chivas Brothers' Secret Speyside Collection series. It has been fully matured in American oak barrels.

The Caperdonich 21 YO Peated (Batch CP/004) will be available to buy in Norway starting tomorrow, at NOK 2979 (14046301).

Nose: Fresh and almost vibrant. Fruity and rich. Mustard seeds. Hints of green with time. The peat comes through mainly as dark chocolate and toasted oak. With time the peat becomes a lot more pronounced - but still feels like a medium peated whisky.

Taste: Medium+ body. Lovely, velvety, peppery and sooty. Red apples, marshmallows and toasted oak.

Finish: Long finish. Soot, pepper, and a mild oakiness. More oaky associations towards the end - wet oak planks, sawdust and peanut shells.
