The Benriach The Original Ten is the entry level expression in the new core range from Benriach. This whisky has been matured in three different types of casks; bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry casks and a few virgin oak casks.

This is not a completely unpeated release, as a mild touch of peated stock also has been added to the composition.

According to the importer (source) the will be sold under the same article number as the previous Benriach 10 YO, and at the same price - NOK 520 (2391601). You can also get it in the UK at around GBP 38.

Nose: Orchard fruits, honey and strawberries. With time more and more green apples and also green herbs. Mildly floral.

Taste: Medium body. Green apples, apple wax, white pepper and honey. Dry-ish in style. After a few sips there’s a delicate chocolate like peaty touch

Finish: Medium long finish. A touch more spicy on the finish, but the fruity base is still there. Creamy barley in the end.

Comment: Fruity and green.
