Amrut Single Grain Single Cask #1458

Amrut Single Grain Single Cask #1458, 7 YO, 57.1 %

Distilled May 2012, matured in ex-bourbon casks, and bottled December 2019. This release was limited to 1458 bottles.

Not sure if this is still available anywhere. I have previously reviewed the sister cask (cask #1457) and loved that one as well (see review).

Nose: Milk chocolate and honey. Vanilla and caramel sauce. Ripe apples and barbecued pineapple.

Taste: Full bodied and super smooth. White pepper and milk chocolate up front. Then a fruity wave of apple, pineapple and smoked strawberries. Toasted oak and hints of ginger.

Finish: Medium to long finish. More of the same, although it takes a turn towards the dark side - slowly but surely.

Comment: A true delight!
