Amrut Cask Strength
Amrut Cask Strength, NAS, 61.8 %
This is a core range product from Indian whisky producer Amrut. Unfortunately we do not get this product here in Norway as it clocks in above 60 % ABV. That does not prevent me from obtaining a sample and trying it, though. So here goes.
You can pick up a bottle of the Amrut Cask Strength in Sweden at SEK 799 (591401), and in the UK at around GBP 60.
Nose: Very clean and approachable. Fudge (the high quality Scottish kind) and vanilla. It is in fact über-fudgy! Love that! There’s some fruitiness and hints of oak and malt here as well, but who cares. It’s liquid fudge!
Taste: Very creamy and rich. Honey and … wait for it … fudge! Vanilla and ripe apples. Peppermint in the back.
Finish: Medium long finish. Cool peppermint and fudge. Slightly herbal. More and more pepperminty sip by sip.
Comment: Do you like fudge? If yes, you’ll love it!
